Zepf Center Primary Care is proud to welcome Diamond Williams in her new role as Health Center Executive Director. Guided by a commitment to equity and access, Williams leads with a focus on empowering teams to deliver compassionate, person-centered care, ensuring individuals and families receive the right care, at the right time, regardless of the circumstances they face.
Williams’ career spans both clinical and administrative roles, giving her a rare, well-rounded perspective into the innerworkings of health center operations and how they can better serve clients. She began her professional journey in medical assisting before transitioning into health care administration, building years of experience within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Along the way, she has worked at every level of care delivery, with a strong focus on quality improvement, compliance, team development, and person-centered service.
“When searching for our health center leader, we wanted to find someone who was an expert not only in care, but in the client population we serve,” said Chief Administrative Officer Kim Resendez, MBA. “Diamond’s extensive clinical knowledge, paired with her dedication to respectful, client-centered care, made her the perfect addition to our team.”
Throughout her career, Williams has worked closely with clinical and support teams to improve workflows, expand access, and remove barriers that prevent individuals from receiving care. Over time, she found her greatest sense of purpose in leadership roles, especially those that allow her to support staff, strengthen systems, and ensure clients receive consistent, high-quality care. This led her to her current position as Executive Director for Zepf Center Primary Care.
In this role, Williams is excited about serving individuals and families who have historically been underserved by traditional health systems. Primary care, she emphasizes, is often the first and most critical point of connection to long-term health and wellness. When delivered with intention, it becomes a powerful tool for prevention, early intervention, and trust-building.
While much of her focus will be on the daily operation of the health center, she is equally passionate about supporting the many teams that make it possible to deliver primary care services. By creating a cohesive team and an environment where both staff and clients feel valued, heard, and supported, Williams hopes she can continue to improve care and create systems that support the unique needs of this client population.
“Our greatest strengths are our people and our mission,” said Williams. “My focus is on collaborating to build sustainable systems that support both our teams and the clients we serve as we continue to grow our primary care department.”
This commitment carries added significance during Black History Month, a time to reflect on the historical inequities that have shaped health outcomes for communities of color. For generations, Black Americans and other marginalized populations have faced disproportionate barriers to care, including limited access to providers, lack of representation, and deep-rooted mistrust stemming from lived experience. Addressing these disparities requires intentional leadership, culturally responsive care, and systems that prioritize dignity, listening, and equity.
Williams’ leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, honesty, accountability, and compassion. Having worked alongside frontline staff and individuals navigating complex health and social challenges, she understands that whole-person care must consider more than physical symptoms alone. True primary care addresses behavioral, emotional, and social factors, and empowers clients as partners in their own care.
Looking ahead, Williams’ priorities include expanding access, strengthening communication across programs, and continuing to grow Zepf Center’s primary care services. By fostering a collaborative, supportive environment for staff and clients alike, she aims to build sustainable systems that reflect Zepf Center’s mission and values.
“Our team is thrilled to welcome Diamond and learn from her experience,” said Zepf Center CEO Deb Flores, LSW, MPA. “Her dedication to advocacy and her strong leadership skills make her a natural fit as we continue working to break down barriers and ensure care is accessible to all.”
Since opening in 2022, Zepf Center Primary Care has provided comprehensive medical services for the whole family, often with same-day appointments available. Services include treatment for illness and injury, women’s health care, adult and youth well visits, chronic care management, vaccinations, Hepatitis C treatment, specialist referrals, and more.
Primary care is not just a service; it is a gateway to health, stability, and long-term well-being. Under Williams’ leadership, Zepf Center continues its commitment to ensuring that the gateway remains open, accessible, and welcoming to all.
