2025 Golf Outing Raises Over $34K for Local Families

Published Wednesday, August 13, 2025

Though the day started under a blazing sun, the 2025 Christmas in July Golf Outing at Belmont Country Club was a memorable day of generosity, camaraderie, and community spirit. From the first tee to the final storm cloud, it was a day that reminded us how much good can happen when communities come together.

Golfers arrived early on Monday morning, braving the summer humidity with sunscreen, smiles, and festive attire to raise funds for Zepf Center’s annual Holiday Shoppe. Now in its 15th year, the Holiday Shoppe provides toys, gifts, and household supplies to local families during the winter holiday season. This event is offered to Zepf Center clients free of charge and is 100% supported by local donors and employee contributions.

The 18-hole scramble was once again led by Executive Assistant Juana Barrow and a dedicated group of Zepf Center staff volunteers, who spent months planning every detail. From hole sponsors to prize drawings, their hard work helped make the day a smooth and successful experience for all.

This year marked a change for the golf outing in both venue and scale, with a smaller group of teams compared to years past. Although the capacity was reduced to accommodate a more streamlined player experience, the teams still displayed incredible generosity. Thanks to the contributions of our sponsors, players, and supporters from across Northwest Ohio and Michigan, the 2025 outing raised over $34,000 to support Zepf Center’s Holiday Shoppe and Youth Services.

“My team looks forward to the golf outing every summer,” said Zepf Center CEO Deb Flores. “This event is all about connecting with our supporters, showcasing the incredible impact of our work, and raising funds for an important cause.”

The annual golf outing wouldn’t be possible without the backing of generous community partners who help champion Zepf Center’s mission of hope and recovery. Their contributions extend beyond the green, supporting behavioral health services, reducing stigma, and creating brighter futures for individuals and families across the region.

“The funds we raise with this event make a real difference for families who participate in our Holiday Shoppe each year,” said Board of Trustees President Cynthia Geronimo. “It’s inspiring to see everyone come together for such a meaningful cause, even despite this year’s weather!”

While the 2025 outing is in the books, there’s still time to make an impact. Donations to the Holiday Shoppe are accepted year-round. Visit zepfcenter.org/donate or email [email protected] to get involved.

Special thanks to our 2025 Golf Outing Committee and generous sponsors. This event wouldn’t be possible without you!
