Zepf Center is thrilled to welcome Dr. Thomas Roach as the new Medical Director for Adult and Youth Outpatient Psychiatry. Dr. Roach has been working full-time with the agency since July 2024, but his journey with Zepf Center began in 2017 when he briefly served as a resident physician at the Central Ave. location. Now, after years of experience and leadership growth, Dr. Roach is taking on a pivotal role in shaping the future of Zepf Center’s outpatient psychiatric care.
Before joining the Zepf team in 2024, Dr. Roach served in multiple leadership roles at the University of Toledo, including Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy Services, Associate Program Director for the General Psychiatry Residency, and Director of Consult-Liaison Psychiatry. His diverse background, combined with a strong foundation in biomedical engineering, gives him a unique perspective on streamlining systems, enhancing efficiency, and improving client care.
In addition to client care needs, Dr. Roach will also be focused on improving communication across departments, refining workflows, and easing the burden of administrative tasks to support his fellow providers. He is particularly passionate about refining the processes related to documentation and is excited about the potential of integrating AI-assisted note-taking tools to help clinicians save time and focus more on client care.
“Dr. Roach’s dedication to our clients, combined with his extensive clinical knowledge, is going to help take our psychiatry services to the next level,” said Chief Administrative Officer Kim Resendez. “His thoughtful, solution-oriented mindset will have an enormously positive impact on our clients and staff.”
In his new role, Dr. Roach will spend the majority of his time seeing clients at our Nebraska location, which he continues to find deeply rewarding. When he’s not in session, he enjoys catching up with colleagues in the hallway and making regular stops at the vending machine for his favorite spicy jalapeño chips.
As he looks toward the future of Zepf Center and his new role as Medical Director, Dr. Roach is eager to build stronger connections across the agency’s various departments and help implement meaningful changes that benefit both staff and clients.
