Shining a Light on Youth Homelessness: Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz Attends Community Walk with Safety Net Runaway & Homeless Youth Shelter

On a crisp autumn evening, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz joined Zepf Center staff and community members as they gathered to raise awareness for youth homelessness and share information about local resources.

To shine a light—literally and figuratively—on the reality of youth homelessness in the Toledo area, Youth Services staff hosted an illuminated community walk event as one of several events celebrating National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM). Along with these community events, the lights at the Lucas County Courthouse and ProMedica buildings will shine green during November to help raise awareness.

Safety Net at Zepf Center provides 24/7/365 emergency shelter and counseling services for youth experiencing homelessness in Northwest Ohio. In addition to Safety Net, Zepf Center provides a wide range of youth mental health and crisis services. Through its integrated, person-centered care model, Zepf Center remains dedicated to creating hope and recovery throughout Northwest Ohio.
