Zepf Center’s Safety Net in Toledo, and Huckleberry House and Mighty Crow in Columbus are collaborating to share important information about runaway and homeless youth in Ohio. Linda Nordahl, Chief Integration Officer at Zepf Center, Sonya Thesing, Executive Director at Huckleberry House and Michael Kosinski, Project Evaluator and Curriculum Developer at Mighty Crow will be presenting at the Ohio Children’s Alliance conference in April in Columbus. Their collaboration was developed to join forces in raising awareness of runaway and homeless youth in our communities and share resources such as Zepf Center’s Safety Net and Columbus’ Huckleberry House which are both emergency shelters that cater specifically to youth aged 12-17.
The title of the workshop is Moving Youth from the Streets to Safety and will include an overview of runaway and homeless youth emergency shelter services, the demographics of the population the shelters are serving, a discussion on the care coordination efforts and support across multiple systems and increasing awareness of resources available to runaway and homeless youth in our communities. We are excited to share this information, raise awareness and continue our mission to offer hope to this extremely vulnerable population.
