Zepf Center’s Integrated Care leadership held a large-scale Case Management “reboot” training for all their case managers on Wednesday, January 18, at the downtown Toledo Library. The training focused on a review of case management fundamentals. Jim Thompson, who has worked as a group facilitator for Zepf Center, returned as a guest speaker. His message centered on case management principles and the importance of being mindful to stay self-aware when engaging with clients.

Also, Mighty Crow CEO Dr. Gretchen Clark Hammond, PhD, MSW, LSW, LCDCIII, TTS, came to share her social work knowledge, and spoke about engagement and how leaders and staff can work together to make case management work more empowering. Dr. Hammond also challenged all participants to contemplate how to improve the Zepf Center Management program.  Those ideas were shared with the Case Management leadership team for consideration with the goal of implementing many of the practical suggestions.

Zepf Center CEO Deb Flores says that “this is exactly the type of training our employees are hungry for. We used this time to give our case managers training that was relevant and interactive.” The event was also used to help build solidarity through a series of team development exercises and finished with an award ceremony.
