We are pleased to announce Asha Barnes, MBA, will be joining us as the new Chief of Compliance and Quality Improvement officer at Zepf Center.  Asha received her Bachelors Degree in Zoology from Howard University and Masters Degree from the University of Virginia. After receiving her MBA, Asha combined her business degree with her healthcare interest to start her career. With her passion of math and sciences, Asha was able to teach herself how to build various databases while applying them with her management skills.

Asha worked for over 20 years at HCR ManorCare, now ProMedica Senior Care, as the Director of Market Analytics.  During her time at HCR ManorCare, Asha managed a team of analysts that improved systems, drove quality improvement measures, created automated reports, and served the data analytic needs for the company.  She is innovative and created data reporting systems and industry leading PowerBI dashboards.

In her work environment, Asha’s leadership style is to lead by example and she makes sure not to ask more of people than what she can do herself. She incorporates humor into her work environment and believes that as long as you can laugh, there is hope to keep going.

Asha has a passion for assisting others to reach their potential, especially children. Recently, Asha has graduated out the Toledo Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., she serves as the secretary of the Toledo Jazz Orchestra, and is a Board Member and chair of Data Strategy and Data Analytics Committee of United Way.

Asha enjoys giving back to the community and being involved. In her free time, she walks the dog with her husband and looks forward to the next time her 3 children will be home to visit. To keep her going and inspired, Asha often remembers the quote “Failure is not an option", by Gene Kranz who was known as an American aerospace engineer and former fighter pilot who is well known for his Apollo 13 mission.
