Gambling Treatment

In-person or telehealth individual and group treatment is available at no cost for Ohio residents who have identified themselves as having a problem with gambling or sports betting.


The Gambling Treatment Program at Zepf Center provides in-person or telehealth individual and group treatment for Ohio residents who have identified themselves as having a problem with gambling or sports betting.

Our team will also meet with friends or family members who are concerned about a loved one who they suspect may have a problem with gambling or sports betting.

All prevention and treatment services are free and confidential for Ohio residents.

Signs of problem gambling include:

  • Borrowing money from friends or family for gambling
  • Becoming restless or irritable when trying to stop or cut back on your gambling
  • Lying about how much time or money is spent on gambling
  • Hiding time spent gambling, or hiding bills and unpaid debts
  • Spending a lot of time gambling, thinking about or planning to gamble
  • Exaggerating wins and minimizing losses

Available Services 

Gambling Treatment - In-Person

If you would like to schedule an in-person session to discuss issues related to gambling, please contact Megan Poliquin at 419-841-7701 x6189 or via email at [email protected]. The initial session typically lasts between 90 minutes to 2 hours, while subsequent sessions are scheduled for 1 hour. We kindly request that you bring a photo ID along with any health insurance information to your first meeting.

Gambling Treatment - Telehealth

Our Telehealth services are conducted through the Microsoft Teams platform which is free to use on your phone or computer. To ensure that you receive the most benefit from these services, we kindly ask that you have a quiet and private space for each session. Please note that we are unable to provide Telehealth services if you are operating a motor vehicle or are under the influence of any substances during your appointment.

Family Counseling & Resources

We frequently engage with concerned friends and family members who are worried about a loved one's gambling behavior. If you have concerns about someone close to you, we offer family support meetings, typically lasting one hour. These meetings can be conducted over the phone, on Teams, or in person. We welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss ways to support your loved one and also take care of your own well-being. Meet the Zepf Center Gambling Treatment Team

Megan Poliquin, LPCC-S, LICDC-GAMB 

Megan Poliquin (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with her Gambling Endorsement. Megan has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of gambling disorder since 2018. She is well-versed in the areas of substance use, anxiety, depression, and relationship and financial stressors. Her counseling style is supportive, interactive, and empathetic. She utilizes an eclectic blend of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, person-centered and strengths-based therapy. She encourages sessions to be client-led, with her role being to help guide you to your own path of gambling recovery. Megan’s clients would describe her as authentic, humorous, relatable, and encouraging. Megan believes a trusting therapeutic relationship is the most powerful tool to create lasting change. Gambling addiction carries burdens of shame and guilt that lead to isolation, but we all need human connections to thrive. Therapy is powerful because we can share the heaviness of our problems in ways that make us feel heard, validated, and understood. Megan’s own personal experience in therapy has shown her that it can be life-changing. Megan believes that no matter what is going on in your life, you are worthy and deserving of healing, happiness, and recovery.

Allison Huss, LPC, LICDC-GAMB   

Allison Huss (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a gambling endorsement. She conducts individual and group therapy and offers telehealth services, focusing on gambling addiction, recovery, and financial literacy, while also addressing anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Utilizing strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapy, Allison empowers clients to develop skills that enhance their recovery. Her clients describe her as supportive, creative, and genuine. Committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment, she helps clients gain knowledge and confidence throughout their treatment.

Aubrey Price, LSW, CDCA  

Aubrey Price (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker and Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant dedicated to supporting individuals as they work through the tough emotions that come with problem gambling. She offers both individual and group therapy and is well-versed in providing telehealth services. Aubrey employs cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation approaches in her practice. Her clients often describe her as empathetic, motivating, and empowering. Aubrey is dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for all her clients. She thoughtfully challenges compulsive gambling behaviors, guiding her clients toward a renewed sense of freedom in their lives.
