VOCATIONAL AWARENESS WORKSHOP
Focused at providing a better understanding of employer’s expectations in today’s workforce. Program is appropriate for individuals with one or more of following barriers: limited work history, difficulty in obtaining employment, pattern of repeated job loss, extended leave from work force due to disability, and lacks understanding about what working requires. Subject areas covered in this group include: attendance, grooming, hygiene, employer needs and expectations, identification of work values, identification of work preferences, job goal identification, fears and hindrances toward work, awareness/willingness of ability to meet employers expectations, identification of support systems to attain and maintain employment, and identification of likes and dislikes about work.
EMPOWERED TO CHANGE WORKSHOP
Interactive study of economic classes and better understanding as to ow the economy works. Facilitator’s will teach 5 – 6 modules to help individuals think outside the box and understand hidden rules of the working economy. This workshop will include group work in addition to each individual looking at his or her personal life and determining what resources are needed to gain financial security.
