In 1960, received the
Distinguished Citizenship Award from the Toledo Blade for outstanding
service to her community.
In June, 1962,
received the Stella Maris Award form Mary Manse College, Toledo for
carrying the ideals of Christian Womanhood throughout this country,
Europe and beyond.
In 1963, The Toledo
Diocesan Council Catholic Women sponsored a Clinic in San Salvador, El
Salvador, for homeless and hungry mothers and children, naming it the
Elizabeth Ann Zepf Madonna Shelter because of her role in helping the
hungry and homeless throughout the under-developed countries through the
Madonna Plan Program of the National Council Catholic Women, a Program
she helped to establish.
In February, 1966,
she was given a citation by Caritas of El Salvador for her interest in he
work with the poor and homeless of that country.
In March 1968, the
Mt. St. Joseph College of Cincinnati, Ohio, conferred the 3Mater Et
Magistra2Award given annually to a woman in the United States who has
made outstanding contributions to social justice and charity. She was the
5th woman in the United States to win this Award and the first from Ohio.
June 13, 1969, the
University of Toledo conferred upon her the Doctor of humane Letters
Degree for her 13 years of devoted service on the Board of Trustees of
the University as a member and as an officer and for her involvement in
many areas of Community life, serving her fellow citizens and her Church
at home and abroad.
In March, 1974, the
Southeast Area of the Mental health Centers was opened and named the
Elizabeth Ann Zepf community Mental Heath Center because of her positive
commitment and contribution in he field of Mental Health in Lucas County.
August, 1980, the
Women's Services Division and the Women's Advisory Council of the Ohio
Bureau of Employment Services awarded her a Certificate of Recognition
for outstanding achievement and personal effort with the National Council
Catholic Women.
In June, 1983, the
Mental Heath Board of Lucas County named her an Honorary Life Member of
the Board for her 20 years service in the Mental Health Field,
In 1984, March of
Dimes Birth Defects Foundation presented her with an award for her
services on the National Coundl of Chapter Volunteers.
In April, 1985, she
received the 1985 Women of Achievement Award given annually by the Toledo
Chapter- Women in Communications.
October 1985, the
Ohio Nurses Association presented a plaque of Honorary Recognition for
her constant support and commitment to nursing through her contributions
to Maternal Child Health, psychiatric mental health and oncology nursing
in Ohio and throughout the world.
May, 1987, received
the Mother Adelaide Award form Lourdes College.
September, 1988 the
Satellites of the Medical College of Ohio honored her as one of the Treasures
of Toledo.
October, 1999, In the
International Year of Older Persons, National Council Cathoiic Women
presented award for dedicated commitment to National Council Catholic
Women over the past four decades.
